Project Conclusion
I've had a really good time creating this piece of work. 3ds max work, the filming, and the editing was all a fun learning experience. I have learned a lot and now know how to do a lot of things that will help me in the future.
Creating the flower in 3ds max was extremely hard as I couldn’t find any tutorial that explained it. I worked very hard to create the look of the flower growing and to make the flower look as real as possible with the textures and lighting, I worked on it until it looked just right. The falling leaf and petal turned out well, although I did have to use some keying to hide a petal falling at the back as it just didn’t look right.
The 3ds max rain took a while I followed three different tutorials until I finally had the look I wanted. As I have never created 3ds max rain before I was very happy with the final outcome, I rendered it from a few different angles to get a very realistic look. I did have the rain bouncing of the leaf in one render, I didn’t use this in my final edit as I just didn’t seem to fit anywhere.
Filming was fun. I found it very easy to get what I wanted, just had to wait for the right weather. I did a few takes so I could test out different looks.
Editing it all together in after effects and adobe premier was very hard, just trying to get a realistic look is where I struggle a little with fuzziness; I did manage to resolve this and was very happy with how it turned out.

I had to use two different editing packages to get the final look as both would work well with some bits and not work well with other bits. I would edit the footage in adobe premiere, adjust the brightness and add tinting to the footage, then edit the whole thing again in after effects so I could include flower and rain.
I edited the rain and flower into the footage by using the luma key/blue screen and adjusting the appearance and using a feather key and tint to make it show up ok. The rain also needed tracking and brightening up a bit.
The music was downloaded of a copyright site. I do really like the music, as it fits with the footage.
